This page explains what cookies are, how Kinfold uses them on our website, and how you can control which cookies are active when you visit us. We aim to be straightforward about this — no technical jargon where it can be avoided.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit it. They are stored by your browser and sent back to the website on subsequent visits. Websites use cookies to remember information about you — such as your preferences or whether you have agreed to their terms — so that your experience is smoother and more consistent across visits.

Cookies are not programs. They cannot access other files on your device, run code, or carry viruses. Most browsers allow cookies by default, but you can adjust your settings to restrict or block them at any time (see the browser instructions section below).

Types of cookies we use

Essential Cookies

Always active

These cookies are necessary for the website to function. Without them, certain parts of the site would not work correctly. They do not store any personally identifiable information.

Examples: Cookie consent preference storage, session management, basic security tokens.

Duration: Session or up to 12 months.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website — which pages are visited most, how long people spend on them, and where they came from. This information is aggregated and anonymous; it helps us improve the site over time.

Examples: Page view counts, session duration, traffic source tracking (e.g. Google Analytics).

Duration: Up to 24 months.

Marketing Cookies

These cookies are used to track visitors across websites with the aim of showing relevant advertising. They may be set by us or by third-party advertising partners.

Examples: Facebook Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking, Bing Ads.

Duration: Up to 24 months.

Preference Cookies

These cookies remember choices you make — such as your language or region — so we can personalise your experience on future visits.

Examples: Language preference, display settings, region selection.

Duration: Up to 12 months.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our site are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages. We do not have direct control over these cookies. Third-party services that may set cookies include:

You can review the privacy policies of these services directly on their respective websites for more information on how they handle data.

How long do cookies last?

Session cookies

These exist only while your browser is open. They are deleted automatically when you close the browser tab or window. They are used for temporary functions like keeping a form filled in while you navigate.

Persistent cookies

These remain on your device after the browser is closed, until they expire or you delete them manually. Expiry periods vary — typically from 30 days to 24 months depending on the cookie's purpose.
